Information for Researchers

We welcome approaches from researchers and students interested in undertaking research on any aspects of WellElder’s work.

We are also open to approaches from researchers on other topics related to ageing, elder wellbeing and counselling.

We can provide statistical data which does not identify individual clients. This could include:

  • information on clients’ ages, gender and ethnicity;
  • referral sources;
  • referral reasons;
  • issues discussed in counselling;
  • and ORS (Outcome Rating Scale) scores.

All WellElder clients are asked whether they are willing to be contacted by researchers evaluating our service, and for general research. The vast majority of clients have agreed.

We are therefore able to assist researchers identify samples of clients meeting specific criteria. For example, we have assisted a PhD student with a sample of women over 70 who were renting their accommodation and willing to be interviewed.

For any research project, WellElder will send an initial letter to potential interviewees outlining the research and seeking their permission to pass their contact details to the researcher(s).

To discuss suitability and relevance of your project, contact us.
